Jarinko Chie (1981)
Apologies for the delay, but we're at least back with a good one! Sene and I are joined once again by Grace to talk about Jarinko Chie, a delightful movie that secretly lays the groundwork for Isao Takahata's later tenure at Ghibli! We dig into the film's considerations regarding gender, family, and cat balls. We also talk for a bit about films Bones and All, Psycho-Pass: The Movie, and The Great Mouse Detective!
(Note: There is some audio desynching toward the end of this episode. It mostly comes across like I'm just answering Grace and Sene instantaneously lol. I think I've figured out how to fix this so it shouldn't be a problem going forward!)
